The "Writer Card" is the result of the collaboration among the cultural Association “Quel che non è”, the Manufacturer Association and the local Administration.
Thanks to this card and after a short training period on the safety rules in builder's yards and the respect for cultural estates organized by the Manufacturer Association, young people can make graffiti on the panels delimitating builder's yards: afterwards they also have to take care of their works for a certain period of time.
This idea wants to acknowledge the writers' work as an artistic mean of expression as well as to underline the difference between it and a vandalic act on a momument. The ground of art is the free expression which comes out from the exchange of knowledge. An artistic expression mustn't come from the mortification of a previous work but it can survive with it in the urban space as young people's voice, who often feel to be unheard.
Lucca Comics and Games has kindly given to the Association “Quel che non è” the chance to furnish the Pro space and the Association have realized it just as a real builder's yard. It perfectly fits the idea "writer card". A builder's yard is a really moving place: a project takes form in it and it is carried out thanks to the synergy of different forces. We think that the same think can happen within the Pro area: it is the meeting point of creative energies (designers, drawers etc.) and of important channels such as publishers which can make real projects and hidden capacity.
They have moreover included some panels with graffiti which represent a fantastic and fairy Lucca because monuments seen by young people's eyes seemed the right background the celebrate the birth of the Writer Card.
